Four Ways to Have Fun in North Conway Village

North Conway Village is the perfect blend of quaint and modern. Located just 5 minutes from Cranmore Ski Resort, it’s a perfect place to spend a winter day or an evening after hitting the slopes. The village is consistently ranked in the top ten ski towns in the country, and offers something for everyone. Whether you’re a family with children, a shop-a-holic, a couple looking for romance, and or an apres-ski reveler, you’ll find something perfect for you. If you’re wondering what to do in North Conway, here are four suggested itineraries:

Family Fun

Schouler Park is a great central gathering area for family fun. The Conway Scenic Railroad departs the station at the park for its Journey to the North Pole train adventures, where the kids can meet Santa and his elves! Zeb’s General Store, right across from the park, is a fantastic gift and craft shop that has everything on your Christmas list and more. For the kids, there are hundreds of varieties of candies and fudge available behind the counter. Then check out the Mt. Washington Weather Discovery Center, an awesome kids’ museum with all kinds of interactive exhibits!

Shop Til You Drop

One of the big draws of New Hampshire is our tax-free status, which means, you guessed it, great shopping! North Conway Village features many wonderful shops within walking distance of each other. In addition to the candy and gift shops mentioned above, check out The Penguin Gallery for even more gifts. The North Conway Community Center often hosts craft fairs featuring the work of local artisans. Nearby, White Birch Books stocks the best-sellers as well as books by local and regional authors. And why not stop by Pinkham Vacation Rentals right next door and book a stay for your next visit to the area!

A Romantic Afternoon

Start off with a cup of coffee at The Met or the Frontside Grind – two excellent coffee shops across the street from one another. Both feature your favorite lattes and espresso drinks, as well as some tasty treats. The Met has an upscale, artsy vibe, while the Frontside is more laid-back and roasts its beans on-site. From there, head to the skating rink in Schouler Park and take in the Christmas lights that line the trees. Cap it off with dinner at Flatbreads for delicious local pizza in a cozy environment, or a romantic meal at Vito Marcello’s Italian Bistro.

Ski and Apres-Ski

We saved the best for last; if you’re visiting North Conway in the winter, there’s a great chance you’re here to ski. Cranmore is just down the street, but you can save some time and money if you rent your equipment in advance! Look no further than Sun and Ski (formerly Joe Jones) for all of your winter sports outfitting needs. Once you have your gear, head to Cranmore and enjoy your day. Afterwards, check out Horsefeathers for tasty pub food and drinks, followed by May Kelly’s Cottage (an Irish pub) if you’re in the mood for more. Delaney’s Hole in the Wall is another fantastic bar, which serves sushi, too!
