What’s great about Fall in North Conway? Everything! Here are 7 great North Conway Fall events, activities, and reasons to visit this year.
Who doesn’t love Fall weather? Fall in North Conway means days that are warm but not hot (mid 60’s to mid 70’s) with plenty of sun and less humidity than during the Summer. Nights tend to be cool, which is ideal for sitting around a campfire or making a fire in the fireplace to take the chill off. And no bugs!
With schools back in session and theme parks like Storyland and Santa’s Village closed on weekdays, there are a lot fewer people in North Conway than during the peak Summer season. That means that if you come to North Conway this Fall, you will encounter significantly less traffic, shorter or no lines at restaurants, and no crowds at attractions.
Lower Pricing on Lodging
Fall is a great time to find lodging deals in the North Conway area. The absolute best deals are on weekday stays, but weekend rates are quite a bit lower than peak summer season too. Contact us at Pinkham Vacation Rentals for awesome lodging options for your group.
The leaves start to turn as early as the 2nd week of September and their peak often coincides with Columbus weekend (and the Fryeburg Fair) in October. You can avoid the leaf-peeping crowds and see beautiful foliage dotting the White Mountains by coming during the 2nd half of September. Foliage is one of the most alluring North Conway fall events.
Fall is the absolute best time for hiking for so many reasons-uncrowded trails, perfect temps, and colorful views just to name a few. Spending a day in the White Mountain National Forest away from life’s distractions is truly therapeutic (and free!). Hiking in Fall allows you to decompress from life while challenging your body. And reaching the summit is incredibly rewarding!
Special Events- Mud bowl, Reach the Beach, Jen’s Friends, Oktoberfest(s)…the list goes on
There is SO much to do if you come to North Conway this Fall. There are special events like Mud Bowl, or the Climb Against Cancer. Then there are the Red Parka Championship Downhill Tricycle Grand Prix and several Oktoberfests throughout the region. You can pick any weekend-there will be something fun going on in North Conway.
Believe it or not, the single busiest weekend of the year in North Conway is Columbus weekend. And that is due in no small part to the Fryeburg Fair. One of New England’s oldest (and largest) agricultural fairs, it’s a can’t-miss. Go for the food (fried dough, french fries, pizza, sausages and much, much more), the animals (every variety of livestock you can imagine), the rides, or the locally-made crafts. There’s something for all ages and interests. And for a more scaled-down version, try the Sandwich Fair which occurs the weekend after the Fryeburg Fair. It’s great for kids!
